Veloce is a local-first speed-reading app. You do not need an account. Your library, progress, and notes live on your device. Pro backup copies your library to your Apple iCloud. Purchases run through Apple and RevenueCat. This policy describes the app and the marketing website at https://readveloce.com.

This policy covers (1) the Veloce iOS app and (2) the public website at https://readveloce.com (including pricing and support). It does not cover Apple, other app stores, or third-party sites we link to.

The app stores content and settings locally (SQLite), including:

• Text and documents you paste or import
• Reading progress, WPM, sessions, and preferences
• Bookmarks, notes, tags, and queue reminders

We do not operate a Veloce account or a Veloce-hosted library database for your reading content.

Photo import uses on-device text recognition (Apple Vision). Weekly summaries, quizzes, and suggestions use on-device heuristics and, when available, an on-device language model. We do not send your library to a Veloce cloud inference service.

• Apple in-app purchases and RevenueCat (United States) — purchase receipts and entitlement verification to unlock Pro (anonymous RevenueCat app user ID; not payment card numbers).
• Pro iCloud backup — optional copy of your library database to your Apple iCloud account (iCloud.app.veloce.reader).
• URL import — when you import from a URL, your device requests that page from the third-party host.
• Dictation — search and note dictation may use Apple Speech (audio may be processed by Apple) unless you enable on-device recognition in Settings → Data.
• Notifications — due-date reminders you allow; the body may include a document title.
• Support email — your message and email address, hosted by Google (Gmail).
• This marketing site — optional Cloudflare Web Analytics when configured; theme preference in localStorage (veloce-marketing-theme).

• No advertising identifier or ad tracking in the app
• No sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context ads
• No Veloce cloud sync of your library (except your own iCloud backup)

We do notrely on “continued use” of the app as consent to collect personal information beyond what this policy describes. The app does not include a mobile analytics SDK today. If optional product analytics is offered in a future version, it will be off by default and enabled only through an in-app Settings choice.

Veloce is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live).

On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. iCloud backups remain until you delete them in iCloud. Support emails are kept as long as needed to respond. Marketing analytics, when enabled, follow Cloudflare's retention settings.

Most reading data is only on your device. Contact us at readveloce@gmail.com to access, correct, or delete information we hold (such as support correspondence).

Canada (federal): You may have rights under PIPEDA. British Columbia: You may have rights under BC PIPA (Personal Information Protection Act). Contact the privacy contact below or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) or the BC Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC), as applicable. Quebec:You may have additional rights under Quebec privacy law; you may contact us or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI). EU / UK: You may have rights of access, erasure, and objection. We use processors (Apple, RevenueCat, Vercel, Cloudflare, Google) that may process data outside your country, including the United States.

Personal information we receive (such as support email or purchase entitlement signals) may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States (RevenueCat, Apple, Vercel, Google, and Cloudflare). If optional EU-based analytics is added in the future, we will update this policy before it ships.

Service providers we use include:

• Apple — App Store in-app purchases; optional Apple Speech for dictation; optional iCloud backup to your Apple account
• RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) — purchase receipts and entitlement verification (anonymous app user ID; not payment card numbers)
• Vercel (marketing site hosting)
• Cloudflare (optional web analytics)
• Google (Gmail for support)

We update this page when the product changes. Material changes will be noted here and, when appropriate, in the app or store release notes. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version.
